Sanjay Mishra is also on board for a very important role. The modalities are fast being worked out. The shoot will happen from January 10 onward. It will be about a 50-day continuous shoot in Mumbai.
Our calls and messages to Sivan and Massey did not evoke a response. But the film’s producer Shibu Thameens confirmed the news exclusively with ETimes and said, “Yes, you have got it right. It’s January 10 in Mumbai, a city which I love. And, the entire film will be shot at night. Almost the entire Mumbai will be covered. The characters in the Hindi version will be far more detailed than in the Tamil one.”
On Santosh Sivan being asked to wield the megaphone, Shibu said, “The Hindi remake is not going to look like the Tamil original. It will be a visual treat.”
Talking about Massey, Shibu said, “Vikrant will seen as a young, angry man. He is a fantastic actor and we are looking forward to working with him.”
The female lead has not yet been signed. A source says, “The film’s team has zeroed down on two to three names. A final decision will be taken soon.”
‘Maanagaram’ featured Sri, Sundeep Kishan, and Regina Cassandra in the lead roles, while Charle, Madhusudhan Rao, Munishkant, and Vivek Prasanna formed the vital balance cast. The film won huge critical acclaim and was a success at the box-office as well. It was also dubbed in Hindi as ‘Dadagiri 2’ in 2019 by Goldmines Telefilms.
